Homeless Gets Paid With Square/Box

One afternoon at Art Walk in the Design District I had to make a purchase. Now I’m not the type to really walk with cash I’m more your card person. Not sure if I would be able to make a purchase without having cash on me but that afternoon I was in luck. After placing my order I expected to see your average credit card machine that you would normally see in the stores. However, the young lady pulled out her Iphone, swiped my card using the iphone and I signed using her iphone. A receipt was then emailed me to.

I was so amazed at what just took place and I thought this was the coolest thing. Immediately my mind starting getting ideas. Ideas like imagine if I prostitute had possession of this, imagine if a drug dealer had possession of this and imagine if a homeless person had possession of this. Now I’m sure we have all been approached by a homeless person asking for change and we tell them “I don’t have any change/cash on me” well what if they replied I accept credit cards lol What would your reply be?

If you’re in business The Square might just be the App for you. It comes with one simple rate of 2.75% per swipe on all cards, next day payout with automatic direct deposits to your bank account. The setup process takes five minutes or less so you can take your first credit card payment in minutes. Last you get a Free reader and the download app is also Free Visit their website for more details at http://www.squareup.com

The video below is my spoof on the square that I called The Box. Hope you enjoy it and stay tuned for Part 2 – Prostitute Accepts Payment Using The Square/The Box
Part 3 – Drug Dealer Accepts Payment Using The Square/The Box.

A Spontaneous Shoot

One of my goals when I shoot is to create a image that will live forever in the mind of my viewers. I get no satisfaction from shooting the norm unless you’re paying me. There are a lot of nice pictures taken but if you can’t visually recall them what good was the image? I like for my images to evoke some form of emotion or response. Some of these responses range from “what the fuck” to “only Roger B could think this up.” There is a saying that states Seeing is Believing but for me Believing is Seeing. I see the image in my head way before I even look through my camera.

If I can think it then I can shoot it.

Start stepping out the box folks. Be DARING, be DIFFERENT, be impractical, be anything that will assert integrity of purpose & imaginative vision against the play-it-safers, the creatures of the commonplace, the slaves of the ordinary.

In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different.

World Premiere –Official Music Video for Good Ole Bike

The Good Ole Bike music video was filmed in Negril,Jamaica during ATI weekend and South Florida. The video was suppose to be shot the saturday of ATI weekend but due to heavy rains we had to push the shoot to sunday. Sunday turned out to be the better day to shoot because we were blessed with the riders you see in the video. ATI/Dream weekend is a very busy weekend in Negril to get around with a car so we decided this would be a fun weekend to film Good Ole Bike since that was our mode of transportation. If it wasn’t for our Good Ole Bike it would have taken us hours to travel five miles due to all the traffic. Thanks to everyone who lent their support: Scuf, Jason, Theo, Mandi, Sophia, Johnathan, Jeremy, Vivian, Carlos, Collin and Gizelle. I hope you all enjoy the video.

Confined Spaces

A Volkswagen GTI is not your average studio. I decided to see what kind of images I could create on the spot using the inside of a VW GTI as my backdrop. Below are a few images from that exercise. Special Thanks to Jordan who was up for the task.
